Including Little Learners Series: ADHD in Young Children

Join us for a professional development event designed to help you support children birth to three years old who have special needs. Thanks to funding provided by the Maryland State Department of Education, the registration fee for this event is only $5.

This professional development series consists of one 3-hour training session, and two 1-hour follow up technical assistance sessions. The series is designed to encourage in-depth learning that supports each participant’s ability to implement strategies and techniques that support infants and toddlers with special needs. In order to receive a certificate of completion for core of knowledge hours, providers MUST attend the entire series, including both technical assistance sessions.

Training Session

ADHD I: Learning the Basics – This workshop will introduce participants to what Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) really is and dispel the myths associated with the disorder.  Participants will learn about possible red flags, how ADHD is diagnosed, what the latest research indicates about children with ADHD, and general teaching strategies that assist with teaching a child who has ADHD.

Technical Assistance Sessions


Enhanced Technical Assistance for this series will be provided in partnership with PACT: Helping Children with Special Needs, a program of the Kennedy Krieger Institute. A Nurse Specialist who provides care and support to families with young children with special needs will be the guest speaker during each technical assistance session. She will offering insight and expertise on providing care for young children exhibiting signs of ADHD, help each participant create an implementation plan, and be available to answer questions and facilitate a thorough understanding of the topic. Attendance at BOTH sessions is required to receive a certificate.

Technical Assistance Dates:

August 12, 2020 (6:30 pm-7:30 pm)

August 26, 2020 (6:30 pm-7:30 pm) 

Core of Knowledge Area: Professionalism (2 hours)

**Certificates for the entire series are given AFTER the second technical assistance session, please plan accordingly.**


Each participant will need individual access to a computer, smartphone or tablet. Specific webinar access details will be sent prior to the training.

There will be a knowledge measure and training evaluation provided via Survey Monkey. The knowledge measure and training evaluation are required components of the webinar and have to be completed in order to receive a certificate of completion.
