Join us for a professional development event designed to help you support children birth to three years old who have special needs. This event is funded by the Maryland State Department of Education. Thanks to this funding, the registration fee for this event is only $5.
This professional development series consists of one 2-hour training session, and two 1-hour follow up technical assistance sessions. The series is designed to encourage in-depth learning that supports each participant’s ability to implement strategies and techniques that support infants and toddlers with special needs. In order to receive a certificate of completion for core of knowledge hours, providers MUST attend the entire series, including both technical assistance sessions.
Simple Sign Language: In this training, participants will learn about American Sign Language and how the use of multiple modes of communication can benefit all learners. Through fun and engaging activities, participants will learn 20 simple signs that are useful in an early childhood setting. Using current research and a variety of resources, this training will discuss how using sign in the early childhood classroom supports children with special needs. Participants will learn strategies for teaching signs to young children and engaging families.

Technical Assistance Sessions
Enhanced Technical Assistance for this series will be provided in partnership with the Hearing and Speech Agency. A speech language pathologist will be the guest speaker during each technical assistance session, offering insight and expertise on providing care for young children who have communication delays and disorders. Attendance at BOTH sessions is required to receive a certificate.

**Certificates for the entire series are given AFTER the second technical assistance session, please plan accordingly.**
