Who?

Our FREE consultation services are designed to support Early Childhood Professionals and families to address the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of young children. Consultation is available for children aged birth through five who are experiencing difficulties in their child care setting, such as:

  • challenging behavior
  • difficulty with peer interaction
  • aggression
  • extreme shyness
  • separation anxiety
  • sensory sensitivities
  • trouble following classroom routines
  • problems with attention that interfere with the child’s learning

What?

Our consultation services support Early Childhood Professionals and families in addressing challenging behaviors and promoting healthy social and emotional development in order to foster school readiness, so that all children can be included in their community settings. Services include assessments, observations in the childcare setting, action plans, strategies, ongoing coaching, referrals to community services if needed, IFSP/IEP support for families if needed, staff training, and parent workshops. Where?

Services are FREE in licensed child care settings including family child care, child care centers, private preschool settings, or aftercare programs. Project ACT provides this service throughout Baltimore, Harford and Cecil Counties. Looking for support in a different county? Find your IECMHC project here.

Project ACT Specialists do not diagnose children, provide direct services such as speech therapy to children, or act as a child's 1-on-1 aid.
